I am Shannon Layton, and am the owner of Studio 19 Photography. My husband Shea and I, along with our three boys, Dakota, Dillon and Drew, live in Hayden, Alabama, which is where my business is based. It was because of my children that I learned of my love for photography. They inspired me to be active in capturing important moments of their lives, which led me down the path of learning my way around a camera. It wasn’t long after becoming familiar with the camera that friends started requesting their own family sessions, then before I knew it, I had a business!
As a stay at home mom and wife, I feel blessed to have been given this talent, and I try to glorify God with every single one of my sessions. He has shown me things I never knew I wanted to see through this business. I have witnessed the miracle of birth, a young couple just starting their lives together, the love of a family. I have also had the great privilege and extremely difficult task of photographing a newborn baby being held by his mother for the first time as he took his final breaths on this earth. I hope that through Studio 19 Photography, my love for Christ is shown as I work to use this talent for Him.
As a photographer, I want to build real relationships with my clients. I want them to come back to me time after time and never have to search for another photographer again. My clients quickly become more than just clients to me. I want you to know me not only as your photographer, but also as your lifelong friend! I love my job, and I hope that while working with me, you can see that not only in the way that I work, but also in the images that we create together!
Chris Ray is my brother. He works alongside me to make sure that you have optimal coverage on your wedding day. Together, we make a great team and work hard to provide you with the best wedding experience possible. Chris and his wife, Kristin, also live in Hayden along with their children, Casey and Carson.
